History

Shin-Kamagaya Station opened on 31 March 1991 in Shin-Kamagaya, Kamagaya, Chiba Prefecture, with the opening of the second-phase section of the Hokusō Development Railway's Hokusō-Kōdan Line between Keisei-Takasago Station and this station. Following an agreement with Kamagaya City on cost-sharing, a Shin-Keisei Line station opened on 8 July 1992 and a Tōbu Noda Line station opened on 25 November 1999, making it a combined station served by three companies. On 1 July 2004, following a line and company name change, it became a station on the Hokusō Railway's Hokusō Line, and with the opening of the Keisei Narita Airport Line (Narita Sky Access Line) on 17 July 2010 the Hokusō Line station became jointly operated with Keisei Electric Railway. On 16 June 2019 the Shin-Keisei Line's dedicated ticket gate was separated into a new station building, and from 26 November 2022 some Skyliner trains began stopping there. On 1 April 2025, Shin-Keisei Electric Railway was absorbed into Keisei Electric Railway, and the station became part of the Matsudo Line, with its station number changed from SL11 to KS78.

Notes

On the notice board in front of the ticket gates at the Tōbu Noda Line side of the station, handprints of Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters rookie players were displayed each year through fiscal 2021, and the station's departure melody is "Fighters Sanka" ("Fighters Anthem"), introduced in February 2009.
