Location

History

Ōmachi Station opened on 31 March 1991 on the Hokusō Railway's Hokusō Line in Ichikawa, Chiba Prefecture, about 10.4 kilometers from the line's Keisei-Takasago terminus. On 17 July 2010 it was assigned the station number HS07 under a line-wide numbering scheme. The station is elevated, with the station building located below a pair of opposing side platforms that serve its two tracks; platform walls carry animal murals painted by students from nearby schools. Because the Ichikawa City Botanical and Zoological Garden is nearby, the station also carries that facility's name as a secondary station name; National Route 464, running west of the station, is lined with pear orchards that draw visitors during the harvest season.

Notes

A 2006 television commercial for the AOKI clothing brand starring actress Aya Ueto used the station's platform as a filming location, one of several instances of Hokusō Railway lending its facilities for TV and commercial shoots.
