History

Yanagi Station opened on 20 December 1925 on the Ise Railway's Kambe Spur Line in what is today Suzuka, Mie Prefecture. The line's operator changed hands several times: the company was renamed Ise Electric Railway on 11 September 1926; the branch passed to the Sangū Express Railway on 15 September 1936, when the Kambe Spur Line was renamed the Ise-Kambe Line; it came under the Kansai Express Railway from 15 March 1941, when the branch became simply the Kambe Line; and it was merged into Kintetsu when that company was formed on 1 June 1944. The line was finally rebranded as the Suzuka Line on 8 April 1963. The station has been unstaffed since 1 October 1994 and PiTaPa became valid on 1 April 2007. The platform serves a single track in both directions.

Notes

Yanagi has a single side platform served by one track, so trains in both directions — towards Ise-Wakamatsu and towards Hiratachō — use the same platform face.
