History

Yagumadai Station opened on 22 January 1924 as Yaguma Station of the Atsumi Railway. It became a station on Nagoya Railroad's Atsumi Line when the two companies merged on 1 September 1940, and service was suspended on 5 June 1944. Later, as Toyohashi Railroad proceeded with development of housing land in the area, it was decided to revive the station to improve convenience for passengers, and on 1 April 1971 it resumed operation as "Yagumadai Station," a station on the Toyohashi Railroad Atsumi Line. It is now an unstaffed station with a single side platform serving one track, used mainly by school and work commuters.

Notes

The station stands in farmland near the boundary between Tahara and Toyohashi; the "Yagumadai" housing development from which the station takes its name spreads south of the station, and the "Izumigaoka" housing development spreads to its east.
