Location

History

Yagiri Station opened on 31 March 1991 on the Hokusō Line in Matsudo, Chiba, inside the Kuriyama Tunnel, which is 1,827 m long. The working name during construction had been Kuriyama, and the station takes the local placename Yagiri, although the original reading of that place name is the unvoiced Yakiri. The station has two island platforms serving four tracks for express overtaking and turnback operations, and a crossover at the Inba-Nihon-Idai end allows shuttle services to terminate here. Station numbering HS02 was applied on 17 July 2010, and a platform departure melody using "Yagiri no Watashi" was introduced on 31 March 2017.

Notes

The platform departure melody is "Yagiri no Watashi", even though the ferry crossing of that name is some distance from the station.
