Location

History

Kita-Kokubun Station opened on 31 March 1991 in Horinouchi 3-chōme, Ichikawa, Chiba Prefecture, as a station on the Hokusō Railway's Hokusō Line. Three elevators and a multipurpose accessible restroom were installed in March 2010, and the station number HS03 was assigned on 17 July of the same year. It is a semi-underground station set in an open cutting; at 11.7 meters from ground level to platform level it is the deepest station on the Hokusō Line. Two side platforms serving two tracks lie on the second basement level, with the ticket gates and concourse on the first basement level. The station's name derives from its address at the time of opening, Kita-Kokubun-chō, Ichikawa, and it carries the subsidiary station name "Horinouchi Kaizuka," after the Horinouchi shell mound near the station.

Notes

It is the deepest station on the Hokusō Line, at 11.7 meters from ground level to platform level. Jōmon-period pottery excavated from the nearby Horinouchi shell mound is displayed within the station.
