History
Shin-Shibamata Station opened on 31 March 1991 on the Hokusō Line in Shibamata, Katsushika, Tokyo. The elevated station has two side platforms serving two tracks and is the easternmost station in Katsushika Ward; it is the only self-managed station among the Hokusō Line stations within Tokyo Metropolis, as well as the westernmost of Hokusō Railway's own-managed stations. Hokusō Railway assigned it station number HS01 on 17 July 2010, and a station departure melody was introduced on 31 March 2017 before being changed on 26 August 2017 to the theme tune from the film series Otoko wa Tsurai yo.
Notes
The station's departure melody, adopted on 26 August 2017, is the theme from the film series Otoko wa Tsurai yo (the Tora-san films), reflecting the station's setting in Shibamata, the district that is home to the Katsushika Shibamata Tora-san Museum.
