History
Suehirochō Station opened on 15 March 2008 as a tram stop on the Takaoka Kidō Line, operated by the Man'yōsen streetcar company in Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture. It was the first new station added since Man'yōsen began operating the line, and it remains the newest station on the network. The station is an at-grade stop with two facing side platforms flanking a single track, and the platforms have roofed shelters. From 1 May 2020 it has carried the naming-rights nickname "Santen Corporation Suehirochō," following a sponsorship agreement with Santen Corporation. Today it serves the nearby Suehirochō and Otaya-dōri shopping streets.
Notes
The station is also known as one of the real-world settings that appear in the theatrical anime film I Want to Eat Your Pancreas.
