History

Sue Station, located in Sue, Ayagawa-chō, Ayauta District, Kagawa Prefecture, is a station of the Takamatsu-Kotohira Electric Railroad's Kotohira Line, station number K13. It is an at-grade station with two side platforms and two tracks, capable of train exchange, but unusually for a Kotoden station it is configured for right-hand running (platform 2 for outbound, platform 1 for inbound). It was formerly a contracted station, but was made unstaffed around the same time as Okamoto and Okada stations. Tickets can be purchased from an automatic ticket machine. Daily ridership was 1,226 in 2001 but had fallen to 513 per day by 2023, a decline attributed to the advance of motorization in Ayauta District and a shift away from rail use following the COVID-19 pandemic.
