History

Naka-Gōra Station opened on 1 December 1921 with the inauguration of the Hakone Tozan Cable Car Line. Wartime restrictions classified the cable car as a non-essential line, and the station was suspended from 11 February 1944 to 1 July 1950. The unstaffed two-platform station, 0.72 km from Gōra, sits on a steep slope; passengers crossing the track must walk through the stopped funicular car as there is no foot route around it. It is now operated by Odakyu Hakone.

Notes

There is no walkway or road crossing the track at this stop — to switch sides, passengers walk through whichever funicular car happens to be stopped.
