History
Ichinomiya Station opened on 21 December 1926 as a station of the Kotohira Electric Railway. It became a station of the Takamatsu-Kotohira Electric Railroad's Kotohira Line through a company merger on 1 November 1943, and on 7 April 1987 it was relocated 336 meters toward Kotoden-Kotohira. This brought it closer to Takamatsu Minami High School, but farther from Tamura Shrine. It is located in Ichinomiyachō, Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture, station number K08. It has an island platform configuration with two platforms and three tracks, and some Kotohira Line trains turn back at this station. The former station had two side platforms and two tracks. It has an IruCa service counter and an IruCa commuter-pass counter, and is designated for stopover tickets.
Notes
Of all the stations called Ichinomiya on Japan's railway network, this is the only one whose name carries no qualifying former-province or company prefix.
