Location

History

Yagi-nishiguchi Station occupies the original site of Yamato-Yagi Station, which opened as Yagi Station on 21 March 1923 on Osaka Electric Tramway's Unebi Line. The company's Yagi Line branched off here towards Takada from 21 March 1925, and when that line was extended on to Sakurai on 5 January 1929 the main station moved roughly 400 metres north to the present site of Yamato-Yagi Station; the railway kept the older platforms in service, renaming them Yagi-nishiguchi. The line passed to Kansai Express Railway in 1941 and to Kintetsu Railway in 1944 through company mergers. PiTaPa service began on 1 April 2007.

Notes

Although it stands about 400 metres south of Yamato-Yagi Station, Yagi-nishiguchi is treated as part of that same station for fare purposes, and no operating distance is set between the two.
