History
Tsuzumigaura Station, on the Kintetsu Nagoya Line at Jike 4-chōme, Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture, opened as Koyasu Kannon Station on 10 September 1915, when the Ise Railway line between Shiroko and Isshinden-machi (now Takada Honzan) opened. It was renamed Tsuzumigaura on 1 October 1922 and relocated about 300 meters toward Shiroko in September 1925. It passed through the 1926 renaming to Ise Electric Railway, became a Sangū Express Electric Railway station in 1936, a Kansai Express Railway station in 1941 (when the line was renamed the Nagoya Line), and became a Kintetsu station on 1 June 1944 through the merger of Kansai Express Railway and Nankai Railway. PiTaPa became usable on 1 April 2007, and the station was unstaffed all day from 21 December 2013. Its station number is E32.
Notes
Until the 1980s, scheduled express trains made special stops at the station, and special express services ran between Kintetsu Nagoya Station and this station to carry swimmers to the nearby Tsuzumigaura Beach. Some rolling stock still retains destination roll signs reading "Express | Tsuzumigaura."
