History

Toneri Station opened on 30 March 2008 with the start of revenue service on the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation's Nippori-Toneri Liner. The station, in Toneri 1-chōme of Adachi Ward, is 8.7 kilometres from the line's terminus at Nippori. It is an elevated station with a single island platform serving two tracks. Station numbering was introduced in November 2017, with Toneri assigned NT12. The station's kanji, 舎人, are well known as difficult to read. Toneri lies between Toneri-kōen and Minumadai-shinsuikōen, the line's other terminus.

Notes

Toneri Station is known as one of the network's hard-to-read (難読) station names: the kanji 舎人 give little indication that they are read "Toneri".
