History

Tokumasu Station opened on 1 September 1938 in what is now the city of Yanagawa, Fukuoka, on the Nishitetsu Tenjin Ōmuta Line. The operating company merged with the Kyushu Electric Tramway on 19 September 1942 and renamed itself Nishi-Nippon Railway three days later, on 22 September 1942 — the operator that still runs the line today. Station numbering, introduced on 1 February 2017, designates the stop T40. The station is built around a single bi-directional side platform with no station building, only a shelter; it has long been unstaffed. Tokumasu is also the site of the Tenjin Ōmuta Line's 60-kilometre post, measured from the line's starting point at Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin).

Notes

The Tenjin Ōmuta Line's 60-kilometre post, counted from the line's starting point at Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin), is located at Tokumasu — a station whose own recorded distance from Tenjin is 59.7 km.
