History

Shiotsuka Station opened on 1 September 1938 on the Kyushu Railway's Tenjin Ōmuta Line in what is now the city of Yanagawa, Fukuoka. The station building was rebuilt in 1974. The operating company merged with Kyushu Electric Tramway on 19 September 1942 and was renamed Nishi-Nippon Railway three days later. Use of the nimoca IC card began on 18 May 2008. The station was given station number T41 when station numbering was introduced in February 2017. On 1 April 2021 the centralised remote-management system was installed and the station was fully destaffed. The station occupies a single island platform with two tracks and a level crossing for access.
