History
Takinogawa-itchōme Station (SA 18) is a Toden Arakawa Line tram stop in Takinogawa 1-chōme, Kita-ku, Tokyo. It opened on 20 August 1911 with the original Ōji Electric Tramway between Asukayama-ue (now Asukayama) and Ōtsuka (now Ōtsuka-eki-mae). The Ōji Electric Tramway was sold to Tokyo City on 1 February 1942 and reorganised as the Takinogawa Line (today the Arakawa Line). The Takinogawa Line was suspended in 1944 as a wartime measure and resumed on 10 July 1946.
Notes
The stop takes its name from the Takinogawa 1-chōme district of Kita, Tokyo, in which it stands. Its immediate surroundings include National Route 122, Sakuragaoka Junior and Senior High School, the Takinogawa branch of the Tokyo Higashi Shinkin Bank, and the Kita City Citizens' Centre.
