History
Takedao Station opened on 25 January 1899 on the Hankaku Railway, which was nationalised in 1907; the section south of Fukuchiyama was renamed the Fukuchiyama Line in 1912. The station originally stood on the riverside single-track route, but on 1 August 1986 the section between Namaze and Dōjō was replaced by a new double-track alignment and Takedao was relocated to its present site, half on the 2nd Mukogawa Bridge and half inside the 1st Takedao Tunnel; the new line was electrified on 1 November 1986. With the privatisation of JNR on 1 April 1987 it passed to JR West, and the "JR Takarazuka Line" nickname was adopted on 13 March 1988. Station number JR-G59 was assigned in March 2018.
Notes
The elevated platforms straddle two structures: the southern half stands on the 2nd Mukogawa Bridge, set high above the water, while the northern half lies inside the 1st Takedao Tunnel.
