History
Takatsuno Station opened on 1 June 1913 with the Yokkaichi Railway's opening between Kawashima-mura (now Ise-Kawashima Station) and Yunoyama (now Yunoyama-Onsen Station). It became a station of the Mie Railway on 1 March 1931 and of Mie Kōtsū on 11 February 1944. Mie Kōtsū spun off its railway business to Mie Electric Railway on 1 February 1964, and on 1 March of that year the track gauge was converted from 762 mm to 1,435 mm and the overhead line voltage raised to 1,500 V DC. A company merger on 1 April 1965 made it a station on the Kintetsu Yunoyama Line, with station number K25. PiTaPa came into use on 1 April 2007, and in October 2012 the station was unstaffed at the same time automatic ticket gates were introduced. It is a ground-level station with two opposed platforms serving two tracks where trains can pass each other, and it is now an unstaffed station managed by Kintetsu Yokkaichi Station.
