Location
History
Takasago Station is on the Sanyo Electric Railway Main Line in Takasago, Hyōgo Prefecture. It began service on 19 August 1923 under the name Takasagomachi Station, when the Kobe–Himeji Electric Railway started operating, and was renamed Dentetsu Takasago Station on 16 January 1924. It passed to Ujigawa Electric after a 1927 merger, to Sanyo Electric Railway when Ujigawa's railway division split in 1933, and took its current name on 7 April 1991. The station is at grade, with two island platforms and four tracks including refuge tracks, linked to the station building by an underground passage at the platforms' east end; accessibility work in spring 2011 added an elevator overpass and a multi-function restroom. All trains on the line stop.
Notes
Since 7 September 2019, the station's train-approach melody has been Louis Prima's composition "Sing, Sing, Sing."
