History

Shirasagi Station opened on 25 May 1964 on the Nankai Kōya Line between Nakamozu and Hatsushiba, on roughly the site of the temporary Nakamozu-Undōjō-mae stop that had served the area between 1949 and 1958. It was built to serve the newly completed Shirasagi public-housing development next door, and was the first station with an overhead (bridge-type) station building on the Nankai network. It opened with a two-island, three-track layout and no passing track on the down line; a down-line passing track was added on 24 March 1974 to speed up services. Step-free access via lifts was completed in 2009 and station numbering NK60 was introduced on 1 April 2012.

Notes

Shirasagi Station is the nearest station to Osaka Metropolitan University's Nakamozu Campus, and it has an auxiliary ticket gate reserved for students of Osaka Prefectural Kanaoka High School.
