History

Shin-kōshinzuka Station (SA 20) is a Tokyo Toden Arakawa Line stop in Nishi-sugamo 3-chōme, Toshima, Tokyo. It was not present at the Ōji Electric Tramway's 1911 opening; it was instead opened in 1929 at the crossing with the new Nakasendō (National Route 17) road, laid out between 1927 and 1931. The Tokyo City Tram Itabashi Line opened a Kōshinzuka stop here on 19 April 1929, and the Ōji Electric Tramway added an Itabashi-shindō stop on 27 May. Both stops were renamed Shin-kōshinzuka in March 1930. After Ōji Electric was transferred to Tokyo City on 1 February 1942, the stop served both the Itabashi and Takinogawa (today Arakawa) lines until the Itabashi Line section serving it was abolished on 29 May 1966.

Notes

At the Toei bus stop on Hakusan-dōri next to the tram station, bay numbers 4 and 5 are given to the Toden platforms themselves (Minowabashi-bound and Waseda-bound) — the only case of Toei bus bay numbers being assigned to tram platforms.
