History

Sakogi Station is a station on the Kintetsu (Kinki Nippon Railway) Nagoya Line, located in 6-chōme, Sakogi, Yatomi, Aichi Prefecture, which opened on 26 June 1938 simultaneously with the completion of Kansai Express Electric Railway's line between Kuwana and Kankyū-Nagoya (now Kintetsu Nagoya). It carries station number E10; the operating company changed to Sangū Express Electric Railway in 1940, to Kansai Express Railway in 1941, and to Kinki Nippon Railway (Kintetsu) in 1944. PiTaPa service began on 1 April 2007. It is a ground-level station with two opposed platforms serving two tracks, accommodating trains of up to five cars; the ticket gates and concourse are underground while the platforms are at ground level. It is a staffed station managed by Kintetsu Nagoya Station.

Notes

The station functions as the gateway to Yatomi's Jūshiyama district (the former village of Jūshiyama, Ama District), which has no railway station of its own; from the station's south exit, the north and east routes of the Yatomi community bus depart toward the general welfare center.
