History

Sakaechō Stop opened on 31 October 1913 as Yamashita Stop, when the Ōji Electric Railway extended its line from Kajiwara Stop. In 1942, Ōji Electric Railway's operations passed to the City of Tokyo, and the stop became part of the city tramway's Arakawa Line; it was renamed Sakaechō Stop in 1953. The stop, numbered SA 15, has two opposed side platforms serving two tracks, narrower than at most stops on the line. It now serves the Toei Arakawa Line, branded the Tokyo Sakura Tram, operated by the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation, between Kajiwara and Ōji-Ekimae stops in Kita, Tokyo.

Notes

Landmarks near the stop include a Kosé research laboratory and an Albion research laboratory.
