Location
History
Ōta opened on 21 December 1926 as a station on the original Kotohira Electric Railway. It became a Takamatsu-Kotohira Electric Railroad (Kotoden) station on the Kotohira Line through the 1 November 1943 wartime merger. The Sanjō–Ōta section north of the station was double-tracked on 1 November 2020.
Notes
An illuminated notice at Ōta tells waiting passengers when the previous train has left: once an up train departs Busshōzan, the station immediately before Ōta, a display on platform 1 lights up to read that the next train has departed Busshōzan.
