History

Oitsu Station opened on 22 January 1924 as a station on the Atsumi Electric Railway (the present-day Toyohashi Railroad Atsumi Line). It passed to Nagoya Railroad's Atsumi Line through the 1 September 1940 merger and was transferred to Toyohashi Railroad on 1 October 1954. The station was destaffed in March 1991.

Notes

Oitsu has two side platforms linked by an unguarded — no signal, no gate — at-grade walkway, plus one storage siding and one former freight siding that is still used occasionally for rolling-stock deliveries and long-term storage. The station is also pressed into service as the turn-around point for test runs on the Atsumi Line.
