History
Ōbaneen Station, in Nonaka, Ōaza Komono, Komono, Mie District, Mie Prefecture, opened on 23 March 1964 as a new station on the Mie Electric Railway between Naka-Komono and Yunoyama (now Yunoyama-Onsen). It became a station on the Kintetsu Yunoyama Line through the company merger of 1 April the following year, 1965. The IC card "PiTaPa" became usable on 1 April 2007. It is a ground-level station with a single side platform serving one track, the only through-track station on the Yunoyama Line, and has no station building. It is an unstaffed station managed by Kintetsu Yokkaichi Station; no automatic ticket gates are installed, and IC farecards are handled by dedicated simplified gate readers.
