Location
History
Nagato-Yumoto Station opened on 23 March 1924 with the opening of the Mine Line between Ofuku and Masaakishi (now Nagatoshi). It lies 41.0 km from the junction with the San'yō Main Line at Asa. Operations passed to JR West with the privatization of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987. The station originally had two opposed side platforms, but one was discontinued and is now used as a flower bed, leaving a single ground-level platform serving a bi-directional track. Service was suspended from 15 July 2010 to 26 September 2011 after heavy rains and flooding of the Asa River damaged the line. The station is unattended.
Notes
One of the original platforms has been repurposed as a flower bed.
