History
Maihama Station opened on 1 December 1988 on JR East's Keiyō Line in Urayasu, Chiba, and is the main rail access point for Tokyo Disney Resort. Station numbering JE07 was introduced in 2016. The elevated island platform, which serves two tracks, was extended by a total of about 90 m in work that began in April 2020, with the new stopping positions — towards the rear of the platform relative to each train's direction — entering service on 29 January 2022. Musashino Line services also call at the station.
Notes
The park gate of Tokyo Disneyland is a short walk from Maihama Station, while the Resort Gateway Station of the Disney Resort Line monorail and the Ikspiari shopping complex stand directly beside the station gates, and a bus terminal fronts the station. In fiscal 2013 the station handled an average of 76,495 boarding passengers a day, making it the 58th-busiest station operated by JR East.
