History

Kobe Station is a station on the Shimabara Railway Line that opened on 10 October 1912. It was placed under contracted operation on 1 September 1964, and after freight handling ended on 30 June 1970 it became unstaffed at an unrecorded date. It is a ground-level station with one island platform serving two tracks; it is unstaffed and has no station building. A waiting shelter stands midway along the platform, and from its Taishō-side end an on-premises level crossing without barriers or warning devices extends south, outside the station. The north side of the station faces the Ariake Sea (Isahaya Bay).
