Location
History
Keisei Hikifune Station opened on 3 November 1912 as Hikifune Station on what is now the Keisei Oshiage Line in Sumida ward. It was renamed Keisei Hikifune on 18 November 1931. On 1 May 1969 the platforms were shifted toward the Yahiro end so they could be lengthened to accommodate eight-car formations. After the 17 July 2010 timetable revision, express services no longer stopped here, leaving only local trains. The up-line track (toward Oshiage) was elevated on 24 August 2013, followed by the down-line side on 22 August 2015, completing full grade-separation. Mid-level concourse passages and a Sumida-ward-supplied lift and escalator entered service on 1 April 2017.
Notes
The full elevation finished in 2015 made this the first station on the Keisei network to roll out the operator's new station-signage design.
