Location

History

Keiō-Nagayama Station opened on 18 October 1974 with the extension of the Keiō Sagamihara Line and began service as a stop for local and rapid trains. Although the surrounding Suwa-Nagayama district was the first inhabited block of Tama New Town, the railway lagged behind move-in by about three years, and the station opened about four and a half months after its Odakyū sibling of 1 June 1974 — some six months later than planned — because acquisition of roughly 350 metres of land between Inagi and Wakabadai stalled and the oil shock compounded the slip. Express services began calling from 27 March 2001, the second-generation special express from 22 February 2013, semi-special express from 25 September 2015, and Keiō Liner from 22 February 2018. The neighbouring Odakyū Nagayama station building is effectively integrated with this one.

Notes

Keiō-Nagayama Station and Odakyū-Nagayama Station are built adjacent to each other atop a shared three-tier elevated structure, with station buildings that are nearly merged, making transfers between the two lines very convenient.
