History

Kasumori Station opened on 26 June 1938, when Kansai Express Electric Railway completed its line between Kuwana and Kankyū-Nagoya (now Kintetsu Nagoya). On 1 January 1940 Sangū Express Electric Railway merged with Kansai Express Electric Railway, and on 15 March 1941 a merger with Osaka Electric Tramway formed Kansai Express Railway, placing the station on the Nagoya Line under a line-name revision. On 1 June 1944 the merger of Kansai Express Railway and Nankai Railway formed Kinki Nippon Railway (Kintetsu), and the station passed to Kintetsu. The downbound track was elevated on 31 August 2002, and the entire station was elevated by September 2004. Elevation of the line between Fusuya and Kogane was completed on 21 May 2005, and PiTaPa service began on 1 April 2007.

Notes

Before elevation was completed, the level crossings with Prefectural Route 190 on the east side and the Saya Kaidō on the west side were both known as "crossings that never open," but the problem was resolved when elevation between Fusuya and Kogane was completed in 2005.
