History

Kasugai Station is a station on the Meitetsu Komaki Line in Kasugai, Aichi Prefecture, numbered KM10 and located 5.4 kilometers from the line's Kamiiida terminus. It opened on 11 February 1931 as a station on the Meigi Railway's Johoku Line, named after an older local place name that predated Kasugai city. The line here was double-tracked in 1979, giving the station its present single island platform, reached from the station building by a footbridge. Unattended since 1967 and administratively managed by Inuyama Station, it now has automated ticket machines and manaca card turnstiles. A station improvement project planned for fiscal 2027 would convert the platform to side platforms and add a passageway and elevators.

Notes

A separate Kasugai Station in the same city is run by JR Central on the Chuo Main Line; it opened in 1927 as Toriimatsu Station and was renamed Kasugai Station in 1946, and is considered the city's principal station.
