Location
History
Kaminochō Station opened on 20 March 1988, the same day the Honshi-Bisan Line (also marketed as the Seto-Ōhashi Line) entered service. The station sits in the Kojima district of Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture, and is operated by the West Japan Railway Company. It carries station number JR-M11. Because the station has no point machines or absolute signals, JR West classifies it as a halt rather than a full station. ICOCA-capable simplified ticket gates were introduced on 9 July 2007 and the card became usable on 1 September of the same year. Platform-height adjustment work raising the platforms from 920 mm to 1,100 mm was completed in March 2009.
