History

Kamikawaguchi Station opened on 25 October 1911 in present-day Fukuchiyama, Kyoto Prefecture, on what is now the San'in Main Line, 95.2 km from the line's terminus at Kyoto. It has one ground-level island platform and one ground-level side platform, connected to the station building by a footbridge, and is unattended. With the privatisation of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987 the station came under the operation of the West Japan Railway Company (JR West). Japan National Route 9 runs beside the station. In fiscal 2016 the station was used by an average of 45 passengers a day.
