History
Kajita Station is a petition station, newly built as a passenger-only, unstaffed station between Kōnu and Bingo-Yasuda stations on the Japanese National Railways Fukuen Line on 1 October 1963; the local community bore the construction cost. Located at Aza Norinaga, Kajita, Kōnu-chō, Miyoshi City, Hiroshima Prefecture, it became a station of West Japan Railway Company (JR West) at the division and privatization of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987. It is a ground-level station (halt) with a single side platform serving one track on the right side facing toward Miyoshi, with no station building; passengers enter the platform directly. It is under the jurisdiction of the Miyoshi Railway Department, and no automatic ticket machine is installed.
