History

Kabaike Station opened on 19 June 1913 on the Aichi Electric Railway, joining the Meitetsu group with the 1 August 1935 merger that formed the present company. The stop was made unstaffed on 16 February 1968. In December 2004 the platforms were extended to six cars, a new footbridge was added, and centralised management took over; the timetable revision of 29 January 2005 then abolished all special express stops at the station, though a morning down express stop was restored on 29 April 2006, and one such train still calls on weekday mornings to carry students to nearby Tokoname High School. The manaca IC card came into use on 11 February 2011, and Tranpass service ended on 29 February 2012.

Notes

A single morning down express still skips its express timetable to call here — kept on the books purely to drop students at nearby Tokoname High School.
