History

Iyo-Miyoshi Station opened on 1 October 1923 with the Ministry of Railways' San'yo Line (present-day Yosan Line) extension from Nyūgawa Station to this station. Freight handling ended on 8 November 1971, parcel handling ended on 1 February 1984, and on 1 April of that year the station became unstaffed and was placed under contracted (simplified) operation. It became a station of Shikoku Railway Company at the 1 April 1987 division and privatization of Japanese National Railways and was assigned station number Y37. Reconstruction of the station building began in October 2017, the new building was completed on 16 March 2018, and a completion ceremony was held on the 19th of the same month.
