Location
History
Iyo-Mishima Station, located at Mishima-chūō 3-chōme, Shikokuchūō, Ehime Prefecture, is a station of JR Shikoku and JR Freight on the Yosan Line, established on 16 September 1917 as a station of the Imperial Railway Agency. A dedicated siding for Daio Paper opened on 1 April 1970. Shikoku's first elevated-concourse station building was completed on 25 May 1975. Wagonload freight handling, excluding traffic to and from the dedicated siding, ended on 15 November 1982, and parcel handling ended on 1 November 1986. It became a station of JR Shikoku and JR Freight at the 1 April 1987 division and privatization of Japanese National Railways. Container freight handling began on 13 March 1988, and the on-site 'Iyo-Mishima Station Warp Plaza' ceased operation on 28 December 2022. Its station number is Y23.
Notes
This was the first station in Shikoku to have an elevated-concourse station building built, and a dedicated siding branches from the main line about 1 km east of the station to Daio Paper's Mishima plant.
