History
Ishibashi Station is a tram stop on the Nagasaki Electric Tramway's Ōura Line, in Ōura, Nagasaki. A temporary terminus, Izumo-machi kari-shūten, opened on 27 December 1916; after relocation it reopened as Izumo-machi Station on 4 June 1917. It was renamed Ōura-Ishibashi Station in April 1930, then Ishibashi Station on 10 June 1983. The stop has two facing platforms straddling a single track laid alongside the Ōura River; the road-side platform was rebuilt in 2002, letting front-and-center-door trams, types 360 and 500, serve the stop. It remains the Ōura Line's terminus, the southernmost tram stop in Nagasaki Prefecture, served by Route 5.
Notes
The steep mountain just past Ishibashi's terminus permanently blocks any further extension of the Ōura Line, making Ishibashi both the line's end and the southernmost tram stop in Nagasaki Prefecture.
