History
Innoshō Station is a station on the JR West Kishin Line in Ninomiya, Tsuyama, Okayama Prefecture. It opened on 21 August 1923 when the Railway Ministry's Sakubi Line (now the Kishin Line) opened between Tsuyama and Mimasaka-Oiwake. It became part of the Sakubi East Line when the Sakubi West Line opened on 14 April 1929, part of the Sakubi Line when the Tsuyama–Niimi section was completed on 11 December 1930, and part of the Kishin Line on 10 October 1936. Freight and parcel handling ended on 12 March 1973, the station was unstaffed on 14 March 1985, and it became a JR West station at the division and privatization of JNR on 1 April 1987. It formerly had two opposed platforms serving two tracks, but one track was removed and it is now a through-track station with a single side platform on the right side facing Niimi. The station building remains, though only the waiting-room portion is in use.
