History
Hizen-Nanaura Station opened on 16 April 1934 as a station on the Nagasaki Main Line (Ariake Line), established by the Railway Ministry. Freight handling ended on 15 February 1962, and parcel handling ended and the station became unstaffed on 10 February 1972. It was transferred to JR Kyushu at the JNR privatization of 1 April 1987. With the timetable revision accompanying the opening of the Nishi-Kyushu Shinkansen on 23 September 2022, the section from Hizen-Hama Station to Nagasaki Station became non-electrified, and this station was included in that section. It is a ground-level station with two opposed platforms and two tracks, with a wooden station building; the down line is straight but does not have a single-track-through configuration, and all trains keep to the left.
