History

Higashi-Kishiwada Station is a JR West stop on the Hanwa Line in Kishiwada, Osaka Prefecture, located 26.5 kilometres from the line's northern terminus at Tennōji. It opened on 16 June 1930 as Habugō Station, was renamed Hanwa-Kishiwada Station on 1 April 1932, and took its present name on 1 August 1941. The station passed to JR West at the privatisation of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987. Station numbering was introduced in March 2018, and the station was assigned JR-R40. The current layout has two elevated island platforms with the station building underneath, and a staffed Midori no Madoguchi ticket office.
