History

Hida-Miyada Station is a JR Central Takayama Main Line station in Gero, Gifu Prefecture. It opened on 1 October 1955 as a new station on the Takayama Main Line between Jōro and Hida-Osaka, handling passenger traffic only, and became a JR Central station at the privatisation of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987.

Notes

Hida-Miyada opened on 1 October 1955 as a new station on the Takayama Main Line between Jōro and Hida-Osaka. It is the first station without a passing loop that trains reach after leaving the line's starting point at Gifu, and one of only four stations on the line still in their original single-platform, single-track form; a plan to add a passing loop when the line was modernised in the late 1960s was shelved.
