History

Hida-Kokufu Station is a JR Central Takayama Main Line station in Hirose-machi, Kokufu-chō, Takayama, Gifu Prefecture. It opened on 25 October 1934 when the Railway Ministry's Takayama Main Line was extended from Hida-Osaka to Sakakami. Freight handling ended on 20 April 1973, baggage on 1 February 1984, and the station became simplified-consigned on 1 June 1985. JR Central took over on 1 April 1987, and the station was fully unstaffed on 1 April 2007.

Notes

Hida-Kokufu still has the large wooden station building it was given in the days when staff were posted there, although its toilet has since been demolished. The site now offers parking for a handful of cars.
