Location

History

The Hibiya Line platform at Hatchōbori opened on 28 February 1963 with the Ningyōchō–Higashi-Ginza extension of the Teito Rapid Transit Authority. The JR East Keiyō Line platform, originally provisionally named "Shin-Hatchōbori", followed on 10 March 1990 when the line's Shin-Kiba–Tokyo segment opened, turning the site into an interchange. Suica was accepted from 18 November 2001 and Hibiya Line management passed to Tokyo Metro on 1 April 2004 with the privatisation of the TRTA, PASMO acceptance starting in 2007. Station numbering JE02 was added in 2016 and the Hibiya Line platform received departure melodies on 7 February 2020.

Notes

At the Kayabachō end of the Hibiya Line platform there is a Y-shaped turnback siding, provided for the terminating trains that planners expected would dominate the new line but that never materialised; it is now used for overnight stabling.
