Location
History
Hane Station opened on 11 July 1915, when the Railway Agency's San'in Main Line was extended between Oda Station and Iwami-Ōta Station (now Ōda-shi Station). Freight handling ended on 1 October 1962 and parcel handling ended on 1 February 1984. It was once made unstaffed on 14 March 1985, but became staffed when it passed to JR West at the privatization of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987, before becoming unstaffed again on 10 March 1990. It is a ground-level station with an island platform serving two tracks that allows trains to pass one another, and a wooden station building combined with a neighborhood association hall survives.
Notes
Under a single-track-through arrangement, platform 1 on the station-building side serves as the up and down secondary track and platform 2 on the opposite side as the up and down main track, so both up and down passing trains, and stopping trains that do not cross another train, use platform 2.
