History

Azumada-Sakaue Stop opened on 25 December 1925 on what is now the Toyohashi Railroad Azumada Main Line, at Azumada-chō Higashi-Maeyama in Toyohashi, Aichi Prefecture. On 7 April 1950 it reopened on a newly built section of track. The stop carries number 9, and stands at the top of a steep grade beside the stop; the name literally means "top of the Azumada slope", though no "Sakaue" placename exists nearby.

Notes

Despite the name, the stop sits at the intersection labelled "Azumada" (the next intersection east, by Azumada Stop, is labelled "Azumada-Dentei-mae" — "in front of the Azumada tram stop"). A crossover for trams is laid in the direction of Akaiwaguchi.
