History

Asahigaoka Station is a tram stop on the Man'yōsen Takaoka Kidō Line in Ejiri, Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture. It opened on 10 April 1948 as an intermediate stop when Toyama Chihō Railway began service between Jitetsu-Takaoka (now Takaoka Station) and Fushikikō. Operation passed to Kaetsunō Railway on 1 April 1959, and to the Man'yōsen operator on 1 April 2002. Since 1 May 2020 the stop has carried the sponsored nickname "Hidamari no Yu Asahigaoka" under naming rights held by Kōyō Kōsan. It has two staggered ground-level platforms with canopies and ramps for accessibility, and today serves local tram riders between the Ejiri and Ogino stops.

Notes

Until 2004, the tram tracks here crossed at grade with a dedicated railway serving the Nippon Zeon and Nippon Soda plants in Takaoka.
